Origami Couture Skirt ($26.00)

Rating: Trendy for now… and spring… and maybe next fall but certainly not a classic

Fit: If you’re worried about adding more volume to your bottom half then don’t even bother with this one. But if you have some wiggle room, then this is definitely a more interesting option than the usual full skirts we see at Forever. The thick waistband helps with proportion and the folds are so fun that you’ll just want to twirl like I did in the dressing room.

Versatility: You need something fitted on top. But this can range from a simple tee to a cashmere turtleneck. I haven’t seen the blue version in person but I’d still recommend gray or black. You have enough going on with the architectural folds that you don’t need a bold color.

Trend Factor: Draping is popular for fall, and this is actually a pretty unique take on the trend.

Scalloped Fringe Dress ($24.80)

Rating: Trendy for Now

Fit: It’s a shapeless shift, but it works. The hem is short enough to show off your legs and it’s not like those flappers in the ‘20s had defined waists anyway.

Versatility: You can wear a fringe dress more than you’d think. The most obvious is at night with a pair of heels. But I’ve seen girls wear similar styles with flats during the day and under a blazer at a casual dinner. I’d even wear it to the office with black tights, booties and a cardigan.

Trend Factor: Fringe has been all the rage for a while now. And it’s not going anywhere anytime soon. I seriously was drooling over this Monique Lhullier dress when I was at fashion week. What I like about Forever’s dress is it doesn’t look like a costume, thanks to the gray chiffon on top.

Demographic: Everyone

Exposed Zip Jacket ($38.00)

Rating: Trendy For Now

Fit: Why do I like this? I’ve spent all afternoon pondering what it means to my identity that I like this. I am someone who dresses like a old lady and not a 24-year-old and then spends the rest of my day wondering if my 42-year-old self will be mad at my 24-year-old self for not showing it off when I could have or whatever. So I just don’t get it! Anyway, like I was saying, I would never wear this exposed zipper vest but I would love to see someone with a more edgy style really just wear the shit out of it. I’m not a fan of the belt because it makes the whole thing look more like a Project Runway “make something of these car parts” challenge but whatever. Someone put on some fierce shoes and go out for drinks in this.

Versatility: Ladies night! Definitely something you need to sex up for nights out with the girls.

Trend Factor: I think exposed zippers are supposed to be cool or maybe I’ve just seen too many celebrities like Kate Bosworth in the Philip Lim dress I love.

Demographic: 20s

Bellhop Knit Blazer ($22.80)

Rating: Trendy For Now

Fit: I had no idea this was called a Bellhop Blazer. That kind of makes me irrationally hate it which is unfortunate considering how cute it is. It’s trendy, it’s cheap and it nips right at waist to make it superflattering. Given the difficult time I have finding stuff that fits at the waist where it should, this was quite the coup.

Versatility: I haven’t quite figured out the most perfect way to rock the military look. I imagine you could throw this on with a white shirt, a pair of jeans and some boots but that just seems too easy. Soooo if you know anything a little more creative, let me know.

Trend Factor: Everyone hearts military this season. Just ask Victoria Beckham and Beyoncé (if only it were that easy to ask them…).

Demographic: Everyone. Just be aware that this is knit so it will look a little cheaper than whatever those fancy famous people are wearing.

Faux Leather Skort ($17.80)

Rating: Trendy for Now

Fit: I cracked up when I tried this on. I don’t think I’ve seen a skort since the early ’90s! But the skirt is so short that I was thrilled there were itty-bitty shorts underneath. On the hangers this was my least fave, but it fit the best because there were no pleats or volume attempts. It simply laid flat.

Versatility: To my surprise, I’ve already worn this skirt three times since buying it days before New York Fashion Week. I’ll prob wear it with tights at least three more times if this heat ever goes away.

Trend Factor: Biker chic was all over the fall runways—as was exposed hardware.

Demographic: Teens, 20s

Belted Sweater Dress ($34.00)

Rating: Trendy For Now

Fit: Remember in my Satin Woven Tunic review, I mentioned this is a store for teenagers (duh)? Well, this sweater dress is another example of this. No one over the age of 18 should really wear a dress that’s banded at the bottom like so. It’s just going to bring out those hips. That being said, a nice young teen could certainly rock this for the upcoming (ahhhh!) holiday season.

Versatility: Probably works best paired with leggings for holiday family gatherings, don’t want to get skanky at those.

Trend Factor: Holidays = red + pearls

Demographic: Teens

Leopard Combo Dress ($24.80)

Rating: Trendy for Now

Fit: I hated this dress at first. The bottom half looked fab, especially if I had Spanx underneath, but the patterned top cut off my neck, making me look like I was wearing a dress four sizes too small. We then tried pulling the neckline down on each side, and bam! Supercute dress. You can attach tiny brooches to your bra straps to achieve the same sweetheart neckline.

Versatility: Between the animal print and bodycon bottom, this dress screams, “Take me out to a hot club!” With some sexy gladiators or sky-high booties, you shouldn’t have to wait behind the velvet rope.

Trend Factor: A mix between Hervé Léger bandage and Roberto Cavalli and Dolce & Gabbana leopard, this dress is right on trend for the upcoming months.

Demographic: 20s, Sophisticated

Zip Front Leopard Skirt ($29.00)

Rating: Trendy For Now

Fit: I surprisingly loved this skirt. It doesn’t seem too much like my sort of thing, but I kinda wanted to buy it after trying it on–the colors and leopard print (something I usually HATE) are just so captivating. The only weird thing about it is F21’s insistence that this is a zip front skirt. I much prefer it with the zipper in the back. See, this me wearing it as designed and then wearing it backwards. It’s just so much classier that way.

Versatility: I feel like I say “anywhere!” a lot, but seriously, you can wear this anywhere. A sassy heel at night, a flat during the day, it’s so easy.

Trend Factor: It has the whole animal print thing going on that’s big right now. I’ve never been a huge animal print fan, but I love the way the cool watercolors balance out the fierce leopard print.

Demographic: Everyone

Native Silk Dress ($39.00)

Rating: Trendy For Now

Fit: I think about going back and buying this dress every time Sydne and I are doing research. I guess the only thing holding me back is the kinda (by F21 standards) hefty price tag. This blog ain’t paying the billz, you know. Now, what makes this dress so great? A few things: the awesome geometric print, the shapeless shift silhouette (perfect for bloaty days and should fit a wide range of body types including my own) and it’s really good quality which would explain the $39. I will also say, the colors above are more timeless than the other navy/black scheme available.

Versatility: Go to the beach, go to a movie, go shopping, go do whatever it is you do.

Trend Factor: Geometric prints have been in for a while now, probably because they’re so awesome. Also, you can’t ever go wrong with a classic 60’s shift.

Demographic: Everyone

Fab Ankle Skinny Jean ($12.50)

Rating: Trendy for Now

Fit: I think Jen was getting annoyed in the dressing room because I couldn’t stop raving about these jeans. I have a pair of Charley 5.0’s denim leggings and these fit exactly the same—and they’re way cheaper. I wish I had never splurged!

Versatility: You can wear denim leggings with blazers, tunics, boyfriend cardis, basically any top that covers your butt. Remember, even though it has the word jean, it’s still a legging. It’s not a pant.

Trend Factor: Just about every celeb has worn a pair of denim leggings; Beyonce, Rihanna, Kate Bosworth and Whitney Port, who has the same pair I own that are so similar to Forever’s.
